Goodbye....

Hello, everyone! I hope you had/are having a wonderful day!

I'm here to tell you that I will delete this blog soon... I know, it's like I can't decide what I want to do with my life. I know I have given up on blogging on Wordpress and now I want to delete this blog. I made this decision because I know I won't have time to blog not only because college starts next month, but also I already have my Portuguese blog for many years and I prefer to keep the Portuguese one and delete this one. I think I have always known this, but I always kept trying to keep an English blog. However, it's time to face the truth and admit that I prefer to blog in Portuguese than in English, even though an English blog could help me improve my English skills. But still, I have Instagram and I read in English now, so I'll be fine. If I really think that I should come back, I'll go back to Wordpress, not here.

So, I'm sorry if anyone was starting to enjoy my blog (I don't think so, but who knows 😅) or if you feel like I can't make up my mind. I'm not an idiot, it's just that I tried and I don't think it's working and I prefer to focus in other things.

Anyway, goodbye, readers!! Have a nice life filled with amazing books! 😁

The 7 Deadly Sins Book Tag

Hello, everyone! I hope you had/are having a nice day!
Today, I bring you another book tag since I do not know what else I should post here. But book tags are always very interesting and it is always good to answer them, like this one. I found this tag through Goodreads, which lead me to Tessa's blog. I took the prompts from her post, so if you want to read her answers, click here.

Now, let's go!

Greed: What is your most inexpensive book? What is your most expensive book?

My most inexpensive book is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis (€ 2.95/ $3.09), while my most expensive book is the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, by J.K. Rowling and Jim Kay (€34.24/ $35.90).

Wrath: What author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Maybe with Colleen Hoover? I really loved Hopeless and Losing Hope, but they made me feel too much 😅

Gluttony: What book have you devoured over and over again with no shame?

Harry Potter books, of course! Specially the first book.

Sloth: What book have you neglected reading due to laziness?

Oh, yes... There are some books that I DNFed because I felt too lazy... One of them is The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett. I can see its potential, but I had to give up reading it because I thought I had better books to read. And by better I mean lighter.

Pride: What book do you talk about most in order to sound like an intellectual reader?

I talk about classics when I want to sound like an intellectual reader. 😅

Lust: What attributes do you find attractive in male characters?

If they are smart, funny, nerdy, geeky, nice... I'M IN! You know, people like Simon Lews from The Mortal Instruments series or Park from Eleanor & Park. I also love mysterious guys, like Rhysand from A Court of Thornes and Roses series.

I have only read the first 3 books so far, tho.

Envy: What book would you most like to receive as a gift?

I do not know. There are so many books that I would like to get! I have told my best friend to give me Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplays as my birthday gift. By the way, my birthday is coming! 🎉

Doctor Who Book Tag

Hello, everyone! Today I bring you a book tag I found when I was searching for good tags to post here. I am talking about Doctor Who Book Tag, which was created by Jamie from BecomingBookish! I decided to answer this tag because I love Doctor Who, even though I haven't watched the whole season 9 yet. Also, I have never watched Classic Who because it's not really available for me, which is a petty, but what can I do...
Anyway, let's do this!

The Classics: A classic book that still fits into YA literature.

I'm currently reading Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott. It was published in two volumes and the first one was published in 1868 and the other one in 1869.  I think it could fit quite well into YA literature!

The 9th Doctor: A book you feel is very underrated.

I don't understand why he is so underrated. He is an amazing, sassy Doctor. I really loved him! But you know, it also saddens me that The Night Circus is underrated as well... It's a fantastic Fantasy book!

David Tennant (who played the 10th Doctor)A book or series that was hard to say goodbye to when it ended.

I chose The Hunger Games for this because I feel like Suzanne Collins should write more books based on this distopic society that she created. I mean, I think she could amazing prequels, you know? So, yes, it's sad that it's only a trilogy.

Matt Smith (who played the 11th Doctor): A book that made you smile.

The Little Prince makes me smile because it's so good, so pure. It's full of beautiful life lessons and I think that everyone should read it.

Rose and Ten: One of your ships that never sailed.

I don't think that has ever happened, honestly.

Weeping Angel: A book that you blinked and it was over.

I remember when I first read Divergent I took, like, 3 days to read it. I'm a slow reader because I like to fully enjoy the book I'm reading, but I read Veronica Roth's book very quickly.

Daleks: A book that you want to exterminate.

I really don't like The Tiger's Curse, by Colleen Houck. It's poorly written and the characters are boring as hell and stupid.

Bowties are cool! (it's pretty much one of the 11th Doctor's catchphrases)A bandwagon you jumped on early.

I have to mention Divergent again because I loved it before it became a big thing.

Run you clever boy, and remember...A book with an awesome plot twist that you didn’t see coming.

I was shocked when I read the last chapter of Catching Fire. I didn't see that coming. It's not an awesome plot twist because it made me sad, but it still a brilliant one when we talk about plots.

Raxacoricofallapatorius (something that the 9th Doctor once said): A book with hard to pronounce names or titles.

I have only read one Sarah J. Maas's book so far (A Court of Thorns and Roses) and I know she choosses very interestings names for her characters. But then, I can't pronounce them correctly!

The T.A.R.D.I.S (Time and Relative Dimension in Space): A book that took you back in time.

Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen! What a phenomenal classic!!!

This tag has another prompt, which is "Every Doctor needs a companion" and in this one we have to tag people, but I'm not going to do it. But if you want to answer this, go ahead!

That's if for today, everyone! If you have never watched Doctor Who, you definitely should! It will make you cry sometimes, but it has some fun moments and it's an amazing Sci-F tv show!
See yaaaaa!

It's Sci-Fi Day!

In the USA, Sci-Fi Day is celebrated on 2nd January as a tribute to Isaac Asimov, an American author who was born in Russia and became one of the greastest Sci-Fi writers. He was the one who wrote I, Robot, which was turned into a movie where Will Smith played the main character. He also wrote the Foundation series.

I, Robot (Robot #0.1)
I, Robot was published in 1950 and it has nine short stories.

Here are some Sci-Fi books that I want to read this year (I do hope that I find out more Science Fiction novels to read since I love this genre):

  • The Lunar Chronicles, by Marissa Meyer, is a YA Fantasy series that takes place in a futuristic world where humans and cyborgs coexist. Each book of this series is based on a famous fairy tale, such as "Cinderela", "Little Red Hiding Hood", "Rapunzel" and "Snow White".
  • The orange book is the Portuguese edition of Golden Son, the second book of Red Rising trilogy, by Pierce Brown. I really loved the first book, so I can't wait to find out what Darrow is going to do next to release his people from opression in Mars. Yes, it takes place in Mars!!!
  • The red book is the Portuguese edition of Sky Key, also a second book of a trilogy, Endgame, that waas written by James Frey and Nils Johnston-Shelton. I also loved the first book and it makes me sad that many people don't read it because they immediately think it's like a copy of The Hunger Games. Let me assure that it is NOT a copy of Suzanne Collins' trilogy, I swear.

What about Sci-Fi tv shows? Well, for example, I love Doctor Who! If you don't know what it is, DW is a British tv show that follows the adventures of the Doctor, a Time-Lord, or a humanoid alien that can travel throught time and space thanks to his TARDIS, a space ship. He travels with human companions and he also fights against many enemies while saving many civilizations or people that simply need help.

Resultado de imagem para Doctor Who gifs 12 doctors
Peter Capaldi is the current Doctor. He is the 12th version of the Doctor since this character can regenerate, so he doesn't die.

When it comes to movies, of course I have to talk about Star Wars. George Lucas did an amazing job when he created such a big and diversed universe full of weird creatures! I watched Rogue One in December and I loved it, and I'm glad that there are people that want to expand George Lucas's creation.

That's it for now! Happy Sci-Fi day!!!
